In a significant revelation, a board member of the Swedish Peace Research Institute, Sipri, reportedly played a key role in a Russian influence operation aimed at persuading Swedish researchers to spread anti-NATO messages.
Feodor Voitolovsky, a Russian national with close ties to Vladimir Putin's regime, was appointed by Stefan Löfven's government despite his known advisory role to the Russian Security Council.
The operation, known as "The Baltic Platform," was exposed in a joint investigation involving several international media outlets.
Voitolovsky's involvement raises concerns about the extent of Russia's influence operations in Europe, particularly targeting institutions and individuals to propagate narratives favorable to its geopolitical interests.
