Intensive preparations are underway to address the consequences of the nurses' strike in Region Skåne, which begins on Tuesday.
Due to the strike, around 150 patients will be moved from Skåne University Hospital (Sus) to other hospitals to ensure necessary care and prioritize the most seriously ill patients.
This relocation, normally avoided, is now essential despite the inherent risks, according to Health and Medical Director Pia Lundbom.
The strike, initiated by the Swedish Association of Health Professionals, affects several hospitals in Malmö, Lund, Kristianstad, and Ystad, and may lead to increased patient transport to other facilities.
Immediate care seekers at Sus will also experience disruptions and may need to be transferred.
