The healthcare strike in Sweden is intensifying, with increased concerns from the Region Stockholm.
Chief Physician Johan Bratt warns that after midsummer, the situation could become significantly troublesome, potentially leading to longer wait times and postponed or canceled surgeries.
Similarly, in Västerbotten, an additional 200 nurses have joined the strike, impacting several health centers and extending wait times for medical advice.
The strike's escalation is due to an unresolved conflict between the Swedish Association of Health Professionals (Vårdförbundet) and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR) over shortened working hours.
This has led to fears of an increased burden on emergency services.
