Overkalix is grappling with severe flooding, with water levels reaching six meters, well above the usual one and a half meters.

The lower parts of the Kalix and Torne rivers are experiencing high water flows, prompting an orange warning from SMHI.

The local government is working hard to pump out lake water from the sewage system to mitigate damage.

Despite efforts, the fire station and public bathhouse have been affected, with the latter closed for the week.
