ICA, a major Swedish grocery chain, has announced a recall of its popular "ICA Gorgonzola Piccante" cheese due to potential listeria contamination.
The recall affects specific batches with the number 259404601 and best before dates of August 6, August 13, August 20, and September 3, 2024. Niklas Warén, the quality manager at ICA, stated that the company takes the situation seriously and is investigating how this occurred.
Customers who purchased the affected cheese are urged to return it to the store for a refund.
Listeria is a common bacterium that can pose serious health risks, particularly to vulnerable populations such as pregnant women and the elderly.
