Ica, a leading Swedish supermarket chain, has suspended all deliveries from the bakery supplier Bake My Day following alarming reports of unsanitary conditions and poor working environments.

Investigations by Arbetet and Mål och Medel revealed disturbing issues such as rodent infestations and excessively long working hours for employees.

Ica's quality manager, Lena Sparring, emphasized the importance of customer safety and stated that the decision was made after a comprehensive assessment and dialogue with the supplier.

Despite Bake My Day's CEO Moses Isik dismissing the allegations as false, Ica, along with other major retailers like Coop and Axfood, is taking precautionary measures to ensure compliance with food safety and labor standards.

The situation remains under scrutiny as these companies seek satisfactory responses from the bakery.
