Just days before a catastrophic fire erupted at the Liseberg amusement park's planned water park Oceana in Gothenburg, the site's fire safety measures were approved, with no reported issues regarding work environment and safety.
The blaze, which claimed the life of a construction manager, remains under investigation, with the cause yet to be determined.
The fire safety protocols, approved on February 7, focused on evacuation routes, firefighting equipment, and hazardous work conditions.
Experts suggest that "hot work," such as welding, could have ignited the fire, starting in one of the water slides.
Investigations by the police and the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority are ongoing, expecting to last several months.
