Early Monday morning, a truck trailer caught fire on the E4 highway at the Fittja interchange, south of Stockholm, causing significant delays in traffic heading towards the city.

The fire was extinguished by the morning, but two out of three lanes remained closed, leading to long queues.

Authorities managed to contain the fire after temporarily closing the entire highway to ensure safety.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation, although it is speculated that overheated brakes might have been the cause.

The quick thinking of the driver to detach the trailer prevented further damage.
