In a dramatic encounter in the forests near Edsbyn, a father saved his 11-year-old son from a bear attack.
The incident occurred when the pair approached what turned out to be a bear's den.
The bear charged at them, but the father, Magnus Löf, quickly shot the bear dead before it could reach his son.
Both father and son were unharmed, though the boy was initially more concerned about their dog.
Police arrived on the scene and have launched a preliminary investigation into the incident to understand the sequence of events.
