Two significant cable breaks have occurred on internet lines between Sweden and Finland, causing internet outages for around 6,000 households and 100 businesses in Finland.
The Swedish government, through Civil Defense Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin, has expressed serious concern over the incidents.
While Finnish authorities initially suspected sabotage, they later clarified that no criminal investigation is underway.
The disruptions, affecting companies like Global Connect, were partly attributed to accidental damage by construction equipment.
Swedish authorities, including the Post and Telecom Agency, are closely monitoring the situation, ensuring communication with Finnish counterparts as repairs continue.
