The first case of bird flu this season has been confirmed at a pheasant facility in Kristianstad Municipality, Sweden.
Authorities have ordered the culling of all 400 birds at the site to prevent further spread.
A restriction zone has been established around the facility, and efforts are underway to sanitize the area and trace the source of the infection.
The Swedish Board of Agriculture has also introduced stricter bird-handling rules across southern Sweden to minimize risks.
Maria Nöremark, Deputy State Epizootiologist, emphasized the importance of enhanced biosecurity measures even outside high-risk zones.
Additionally, a dead swan found in Stockholm tested positive for the virus, raising concerns about its spread.
