In Ulricehamn, a balcony collapse on Saturday evening sent three women to the hospital, two with serious injuries and one with minor injuries.

They were on the second-floor balcony of a multi-family dwelling, enjoying a Eurovision viewing party, when the structure suddenly gave way, dropping them nearly three meters to the ground amidst shattered glass.

All three were conscious and able to communicate when help arrived, but the cause of the collapse remains unclear.

Police have initiated an investigation into possible causes, including a construction defect, as no individual has been deemed directly responsible at this stage.

The incident has raised concerns about the structural safety of similar buildings in the area.
