Several authors have withdrawn from the Rinkeby Book Festival in protest against Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's participation, according to reports.
The organizers, Rinkeby Folkets hus and Rinkeby library, have not disclosed the names or reasons for the withdrawals.
Fardosa Omar, the director of Rinkeby Folkets hus, expressed regret over the situation and emphasized the festival's aim to celebrate diverse opinions and experiences.
Kristersson is scheduled to discuss Sweden during World War II with historian Henrik Berggren.
Despite the controversy, well-known authors like Malin Persson Giolito and Karolina Ramqvist will still attend.
