As Sweden basks in the fleeting warmth of spring, a sudden weather backlash is set to bring a wintry mix across the nation.

Beginning Tuesday, a troublesome snowstorm, carrying as much as 25 cm of snow in some areas, will sweep across northern Götaland and eastern Svealand.

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued yellow warnings for snow and wind, cautioning against potentially hazardous travel conditions due to reduced visibility and slippery roads.

This unexpected turn, attributed to a low-pressure system moving in from the south, brings a stark reminder of the unpredictability of April weather in Sweden.

The forecast, however, hints at a possible return to warmer spring temperatures by the weekend.
