Region Värmland's proposal to shut down the emergency hotline in Arvika has sparked widespread criticism.
The decision, which is part of new austerity measures, has been met with opposition from medical professionals, local businesses, and residents.
In response to the proposal, thousands of Arvika residents gathered in the city square to protest the decision.
Additionally, all opposition parties in the regional council have demanded a debate on the issue in an extraordinary council meeting.
Although the council was initially meant to decide on the future of the hotline, the decision has now been postponed due to the massive backlash.
The final decision is expected to be made on January 30.
