Viking Sect's Threats Lead to Charges in Sweden

Published: 2024-03-05

In Gullspångs municipality, two key figures of a group dubbed a "Viking sect" face charges, including illegal threats against officials and politicians.

The group, led by a self-proclaimed empress in her 60s, has disseminated numerous conspiracy theories online, advocating for a new world order and the overthrow and execution of authority figures.

Prosecutors say they've gone as far as sending "execution summons" via email.

The sect's peculiar demonstrations, including showcasing a makeshift gallows under an apple tree, have caused a local politician to resign.

Approximately 30 individuals are identified as victims in this bizarre case of extremism.
