In the aftermath of the devastating tsunami that struck Southeast Asia in December 2004, claiming the lives of over 220,000 people, including 543 Swedes, many children returned home without their families.
Among them was Victor Israelsson, who lost his entire family.
Now, twenty years later, Victor reflects on how he found a new family who embraced him during his darkest times.
This new family, consisting of Sofia Austern Björkman, Anita Törnquist, Olle Björkman, Lovisa Austern Björkman, and Hedvig Björkman, provided the support and love he needed to rebuild his life.
Victor's story is a testament to resilience and the power of community in healing after unimaginable loss.
