Sweden is set to experience an unusual heatwave in early September, with temperatures soaring to summer-like levels.
Meteorologists predict that a powerful high-pressure system from Russia will bring Mediterranean air, pushing temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius in southern regions like Skåne.
This unexpected warmth could potentially break records, as the last time such high temperatures were recorded in September was in 2019. The heatwave is expected to last through Wednesday to Friday, with a possibility of extending further.
While southern Sweden will enjoy the highest temperatures, even the northern parts will see a rise, with temperatures reaching over 20 degrees Celsius.
Despite the calendar indicating autumn, Swedes should prepare for a return to summer conditions, albeit with shorter daylight hours.
