Four individuals were hospitalized on Friday after being exposed to toxic gas at Northvolt's facility in Skellefteå, according to reports from Dagens Arbete.
The incident occurred during maintenance work, involving high levels of the toxic gas NMP.
Fortunately, all affected individuals were released from the hospital the same day, as confirmed by Northvolt's press chief, Matti Kataja.
An internal investigation is underway, and the incident has been reported to the Swedish Work Environment Authority.
This event adds to a series of incidents at Northvolt, with at least 26 serious accidents reported since 2019. Each incident is being investigated separately to ensure safety measures are improved.
