In 2018, two 14-year-old girls set fire to Gottsundaskolan in Uppsala, Sweden, causing the school to burn to the ground.
Now, six years later, they face a lawsuit demanding 73 million kronor from the municipality's insurance company, SKFAB.
The girls, now 20, reportedly broke into the school to escape the cold, using lighter fluid and matches found on site to start the fire.
Despite being under the age of criminal responsibility at the time, they are now held financially accountable.
The insurance company plans to take the case to court, expecting the damages to be significantly reduced.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the long-lasting consequences of youthful mistakes.
