Swedish Teens Linked to Rising Crime in Denmark

Published: 2024-08-07

A surge in violent crime involving Swedish teenagers in Denmark has raised alarms among authorities.

Recently, a 17-year-old Swedish boy was arrested for attempted murder after a shooting in Frederiksberg, marking the third such incident in just a week.

Danish police report that these young individuals are being recruited by criminal gangs through social media, lured with promises of large sums of money.

This trend is linked to internal conflicts within Danish gangs over drug trafficking and stolen money.

In response, Danish authorities are enhancing cooperation with Swedish police, including the permanent placement of Danish officers in Malmö.

The situation has prompted discussions about potential border controls to address the rising crime rates attributed to Swedish nationals.
