Half of the Swedish political parties support the nature restoration law, which aims to repair damaged habitats in the EU.
The remaining parties oppose it, arguing it would severely impact Sweden's agriculture and forestry, according to Ekot's survey.
"Ultimately, it means Swedish landowners won't be able to use their land as they wish," says Jessica Polfjärd (M), top candidate in the EU elections.
"Swedish land and forest owners should be fully compensated," argues top candidate Hanna Gedin (V), who supports the law.
