The Swedish government's climate action plan has been met with severe criticism, leading to the Green Party, the Center Party, and the Left Party expressing their intention to oust Climate Minister Romina Pourmokhtari through a vote of no confidence.
The parties believe that the plan, negotiated by the ruling government and the Sweden Democrats, fails to meet the country's climate goals and gives undue influence to the Sweden Democrats.
They argue that the plan will lead to an increase in emissions, contrary to the legal obligation to reduce greenhouse gases.
A vote of no-confidence, which requires the support of at least 35 members of parliament to be initiated and a majority to succeed, is expected to take place on January 17.
