The Chief of Defence (ÖB), Micael Bydén, recently issued a warning about the increased risk of war coming to Sweden, particularly from Russia.
However, it's not money that the ÖB is after.
Despite the defence budget almost doubling in four years, the issue isn't that defence is receiving more money than it can sensibly spend.
Instead, Bydén is attempting to remind the Swedish public that a war is currently happening near Sweden and the risk of Putin achieving victory has increased.
The article also discusses the ongoing war in Ukraine, the potential for Sweden to join NATO, and the possibility of Russia continuing to pose a threat to its neighbours.
