In an ambitious move, the Swedish government, led by Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson, has unveiled its spring amendment budget for the year, proposing an injection of 16.8 billion SEK into various sectors.
The allocation sees significant boosts in healthcare, education, and the criminal justice system, with healthcare receiving a 6 billion SEK top-up, and the criminal justice system being allocated 1.4 billion SEK for the expansion of prisons and detention centers.
Additionally, the budget addresses the need for increased security and efficiency in airports by dedicating over 1 billion SEK to improve safety and baggage handling.
Other notable allocations include support for the defense sector, measures to combat the economic activities of criminals, and investments aimed at bolstering civil defense capabilities.
