Tensions have emerged between Sweden and Hungary as the Hungarian Parliament delays Sweden's NATO application process.
Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, László Kövér, stated that the matter is not urgent, suggesting there may not be a special session to address Sweden's bid.
Furthermore, Kövér accused Sweden of defaming Hungary.
Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström disputes this claim.
Despite Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán's recent assurances that Sweden's application would soon be addressed, the Hungarian Parliament's recess until February 26th raises doubts.
Without a special parliamentary session, Sweden's NATO aspirations remain uncertain.
