The Liberal Party in Sweden wants to introduce a "parent contract" for students at risk of failing compulsory education.
The idea is for schools to decide if a parent contract, which serves as an agreement between the school and the parent, is necessary.
According to party leader Johan Pehrson and School Minister Lotta Edholm, this initiative aims to make parents aware of their responsibilities to help more children succeed in school.
Inspired by a similar system in the UK since 2003, the proposal was announced during a press release at Almedalen.
