As Sweden prepares to switch back to standard time, commonly known as winter time, confusion persists among many about the direction in which to adjust their clocks.
This change, set to occur in the early hours of Sunday, will see clocks turned back from 02:59 to 02:00, effectively extending the day by an hour.
The practice of adjusting clocks for daylight saving time was introduced in 1980, yet the biannual ritual still puzzles some.
A handy rule of thumb is to think of moving outdoor furniture: when it's time for summer, move everything forward, including the clock; for winter, move it back.
This adjustment will last until the end of March 2025, when clocks will be set forward again to mark the return of summer time.
