In response to a series of recent bombings in Sweden, the government has announced a review of the current legislation on explosive materials.
Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer highlighted the urgent need for an overhaul, citing that the law is outdated and not suited to today's societal challenges.
The review will focus on issues related to permits and supervision of explosive materials, aiming to restrict criminals' access to explosives.
This decision comes after a significant increase in bombings across the country, including six incidents in just one week.
The government's initiative seeks to introduce more effective measures to prevent the illegal handling of explosive materials and ultimately stop the bombings.
