Sweden has announced it will not accept patients from Gaza, despite a request from the EU Commission.
While countries like Norway and Spain are taking in critically ill patients, Sweden's Health Minister Acko Ankarberg Johansson stated that the country is instead providing humanitarian aid and medical supplies to the region.
The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency confirmed there are no plans for medical evacuations from Gaza to Sweden at this time.
The World Health Organization has urged more countries to assist with medical evacuations, highlighting that thousands of individuals in Gaza still require urgent medical care.
As of now, Sweden is focusing on supporting neighboring areas through donations rather than direct patient intake.
