Sweden has experienced its coldest January night in 25 years, with temperatures plummeting to a freezing -43.6 degrees Celsius in Kvikkjokk.
Six locations in the country have seen temperatures drop to -40 degrees.
This severe cold, which is expected to last until Friday, has resulted in the suspension of train services north of Umeå.
The extreme weather has gained international attention, with outlets such as AP, Sky News, and Forbes reporting on the conditions.
Unusually low temperatures have also been observed in parts of Norway and Finland, leading to the closure of schools and preschools.
