Sweden's Defense Minister Pål Jonson has stated that the country does not rule out a more direct military presence in Ukraine in the future.
In an interview with The Kyiv Independent, Jonson mentioned that Swedish soldiers could potentially assist in training Ukrainian forces or oversee peace negotiations, but only after active fighting ceases.
Sweden already supports Ukraine through military equipment procurement and training programs outside the country.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson emphasized that no Swedish troops would be deployed before a peace agreement is reached.
Discussions on Sweden's role are ongoing, with Jonson highlighting the critical importance of aiding Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities.
