Significant ice and snow warnings are currently in effect across various regions of Sweden, according to multiple reports.

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued cautionary advice for sudden ice-slip scenarios, ranging from Western Svealand to Southern Norrbotten.

This is due to a low-pressure system bringing milder air from the west, causing both freezing rain and rain to fall on cold road surfaces, leading to treacherous driving conditions.

There are also significant avalanche warnings in regions such as Southern Jämtland and Southern Lapland, with advice to avoid slopes exceeding 30 degrees in the affected areas.

With the holiday season approaching, experts urge extreme caution to all planning to travel or participate in winter outdoor activities.
