Sophiahemmet Hospital in Stockholm recently fell victim to a significant cyberattack, with the hacker group Medusa claiming responsibility.
Following the attack, it has been reported that a large amount of data stolen during the incident is now up for sale on the darknet.
The hospital confirmed the attack was of the ransomware variety, which encrypts files and demands payment for their release.
However, there was no immediate indication that sensitive data had been leaked.
The hospital and its IT security experts, in collaboration with Region Stockholm, are actively investigating the extent of the data stolen and the specific type of data involved.
