The warm spring weather and rising temperatures have escalated the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute's (SMHI) warning for high water flows in Västerbotten's rivers from yellow to orange starting Wednesday.
Orange warnings, indicating flows seen once every 25 to 50 years, are now in effect for Sävarån, Dalkarlsån, Rickleån, and Hertsångersälven.
Rapid snowmelt in Norrland is causing high flows in ditches, streams, and rivers, with a significant risk of flooding.
SMHI also warns of a high fire risk in Värmland, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Västernorrland, Västerbotten, and Norrbotten due to the dry conditions.
People are urged to exercise caution if burning outdoors as the snow, rich in water, melts quickly due to the warm temperatures.
