Severe weather conditions on January 3rd led to traffic chaos on the E22 in Sweden, with many drivers, including an emergency ambulance, stranded for hours.
Authorities are now evaluating their response, amid criticism that no single entity has overall responsibility in such crisis situations.
Meteorologists had issued an orange warning, the second highest level, for the weather on New Year's Day.
Whether this should have been a red warning is now being reviewed.
Meanwhile, stranded motorists expressed their frustration and fear, including one who offered to help free the ambulance but was not allowed to.
