A suspected smoke grenade was discovered outside the municipal building in Hjo on Thursday morning.

The national bomb squad secured the device, which will be examined in Gothenburg.

No one was injured, but the square around the building was cordoned off, and staff were told to stay inside.

The police are treating the incident as a serious illegal threat.

Municipal Director Eva Ulfenborg hopes the staff can continue working as best as they can until new information is available.
