Sweden is bracing for more severe weather as a new yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for southern regions.

This comes after a day of intense storms that brought flooding, thousands of lightning strikes, and traffic disruptions across the country.

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) reports that up to 60mm of rain could fall in some areas, with the possibility of thunderstorms.

The weather system is expected to move northward, affecting various parts of the country throughout the weekend.

While Friday may offer a brief respite with some sunshine, the weekend forecast remains gloomy, with rain predicted for most of Sweden.
