The southern region of Sweden is presently grappling with severe weather conditions, leading to a major disruption in road and public transportation.

Heavy snowfall and gusty winds have resulted in treacherous road conditions, causing several accidents and traffic issues.

The E22 highway between Kristianstad and Hörby has been particularly affected with multiple blockages due to snow.

Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, has deployed approximately 60 resources to clear snow off the roads.

The weather has also impacted bus services, with Skånetrafiken replacing double-decker buses with regular ones.

SMHI, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, has issued an orange warning for heavy snowfall combined with wind in parts of northeastern Skåne.

The weather conditions are expected to persist for a few days.
