Sweden is experiencing severe weather conditions this weekend, with freezing rain leading to treacherous icy roads across the country.

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued yellow weather warnings for sudden ice in central Sweden, affecting areas like southern Norrland, Hälsingland, Ångermanland, Härjedalen, and southern Jämtland.

This has resulted in significant disruptions, particularly in public transport.

In Västernorrland, all bus services in Sundsvall, Matfors, and Njurunda have been suspended until at least 1:30 PM, while Härnösand has canceled city traffic for the entire day.

A single-vehicle accident in Sundsvall, where a car crashed into a building, highlights the dangers posed by the icy conditions.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The weather is expected to improve by Sunday, with milder temperatures forecasted, but caution is still advised for those traveling this weekend.
