A second aid convoy is en route to Gaza from the port of Larnaca in Cyprus, carrying 400 tons of emergency aid to provide a million meals, announced by the US-based World Central Kitchen and the Spanish charity Open Arms.
This comes as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) orders Israel to take urgent actions to prevent a starvation disaster in Gaza, including opening more land routes for the delivery of food, water, medicine, and other essential supplies.
The decision follows accusations by South Africa of genocide by Israel in its conflict with Hamas, which Israel denies, claiming self-defense.
Meanwhile, Sweden's Social Democrats suggest that the country should lead a European aid flotilla to Gaza, emphasizing the catastrophic hunger affecting 1.1 million of Gaza's population.
The proposal suggests utilizing the newly opening sea corridor and allocating funds from Sweden's aid budget for the initiative.
