In the vast and challenging terrain of Sarek National Park, police and rescue teams are searching for a missing couple from Eskilstuna, Sweden.
The couple, both in their 30s, embarked on a hiking trip in the park but failed to return as scheduled last Sunday.
Their last known location was near a parked van at Sitoälvsbron, with a mobile phone signal detected on August 17. Despite helicopter searches, the expansive 2,000 square kilometer area and lack of marked trails complicate the rescue efforts.
Poor mobile coverage further hinders communication, leaving authorities with limited clues.
The search has been temporarily paused as police gather more information, emphasizing the need for hikers to leave detailed travel plans and be prepared for the unpredictable conditions of Sarek.
