In the wake of a fatal shooting in Skärholmen, Sweden Democratic Party leader Jimmie Åkesson has demanded a comprehensive list of measures from the national police chief to combat severe violence, including potentially deploying the military in public spaces.
Åkesson's call to action comes after the murder in Skärholmen, advocating for measures beyond those agreed upon in the Tidö Agreement to address gang criminality.
He emphasizes the need for political leadership to adopt a war-like stance against gang violence, suggesting that Sweden might need to reconsider international conventions, such as the refugee convention, if they impede the country's safety.
Åkesson also criticized other politicians for their superficial media appearances following incidents of violence without contributing to substantive change.
