Two senior doctors at Sahlgrenska University Hospital's adult psychiatry department have been suspended following allegations of abusive behavior towards patients.
An investigation by the P1 program Kaliber revealed that the doctors were involved in inappropriate patient interactions and premature discharges of suicidal patients.
One patient, referred to as Ella, was discharged shortly after a suicide attempt, despite expressing ongoing suicidal thoughts.
Hospital management, led by Mathias Alvidius, has initiated an investigation into these claims, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation.
The hospital's board chair, Cecilia Dalman Eek, expressed deep concern over the findings.
The suspended doctors have not responded to inquiries.
