Queen Silvia of Sweden has been forced to cancel her participation in the upcoming state visit to Singapore due to a severe respiratory infection.
Originally scheduled to travel with King Carl Gustaf from November 19 to 21, the Queen expressed her disappointment at missing the opportunity to strengthen ties between Sweden and Singapore.
The visit, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations, will proceed with King Carl Gustaf, accompanied by Swedish ministers Maria Malmer Stenergard and Andreas Carlson, as well as a delegation of 40 Swedish businesses and institutions.
This marks the first state visit between the two nations, although the King has previously visited Singapore on official duties.
