Today, the public service committee presented its report to Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand, outlining rules for SVT, SR, and UR for 2026 onwards.
SVT's CEO, Hanna Stjärne, expressed concern that the proposed financial plan would lead to a 'downward slide' in economics, impacting journalism and programming.
SR's CEO, Cilla Benkö, echoed these worries, suggesting a gradual dismantling of Sveriges Radio under the new plan.
The proposal includes funding increases of 3% in 2026, 2% from 2027-2030, and 1% from 2031-2033, compared to a steady 2% annual increase in recent years.
