New Protocol Boosts Emergency Response

Published: 2024-12-08

In a significant development for emergency medical services in Region Jämtland Härjedalen, a new protocol has been introduced that could potentially save lives.

Previously, during severe weather conditions, the region's ambulance helicopters were unable to transport patients in need of urgent care, relying instead on the availability of both aircraft and intensive care staff from Umeå.

However, the new routine now requires only the availability of the aircraft, streamlining the process and ensuring quicker response times.

This change is expected to enhance the efficiency of emergency medical services, providing critical care more swiftly to those in need.

The initiative underscores the region's commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and response in challenging weather conditions.
