NATO Urges Sweden to Boost Infrastructure and Healthcare

Published: 2024-04-06

In a recent interview, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the need for Sweden to enhance its investment in both military and civilian infrastructure, such as roads and railways, to meet NATO's requirements for transportation in an east-west direction.

Stoltenberg highlighted that even countries with well-developed healthcare systems like Sweden could improve their capacity and ability to cooperate in crisis situations.

The call for increased investment also extends to the health sector, with NATO planning for Sweden to play a key role in managing casualties should incidents occur in the Baltic region and Finland.

This involves not only financial investments but also a focus on preparedness, information, and coordination to ensure readiness for crisis situations.
