Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, has decided to pause the development of its AI tool indefinitely.
This decision follows criticism from the EU's data protection authority.
There were concerns that the tool would train on users' photos and posts, impacting user privacy.
Fredrik Heintz, a professor of computer science, believes Meta is trying to comply with EU regulations.
Meanwhile, users had until June 26 to oppose the company's new privacy policy, though it doesn't affect the AI tool.
