In a high-profile case involving a massive unpaid restaurant bill in Malmö, Sweden, the Court of Appeal has revised the sentences of those involved.
The incident, which took place at the restaurant Atmosfär, involved a group that consumed luxury items worth 82,157 kronor without paying.
This led to the uncovering of a series of fraudulent activities by the group, who had been using fake associations to make purchases on credit.
Initially, five individuals were sentenced to prison for these crimes.
However, the Court of Appeal has now reduced the sentence for one woman from one year in prison to probation and community service, citing insufficient evidence of her involvement in the broader fraudulent scheme.
Additionally, the court rejected the prosecutor's request to deport her, noting her long-term residency in Sweden as an EES citizen.
